Sweet And Savory Kielbasa Recipe
This dish was created for a catering that I did for a very diverse group of college professors. There were over a hundred people and everyone raved about it which I of course didn't mind:) There were people from Japan, China, India, Pakistan etc... ... More

Ingredients
  • 3 lbs kielbasa (I love the kind they carry at Sams)
  • 1 jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 16oz container of sour cream
  • 1 can apple pie filling
  • 1 small bag chopped pecans

Directions
  1. Slice kielbasa into bite size chunks. Place pecans in large fry pan and toast them on Medium heat. Remove them, add kielbasa and fry until nice brown "crusts" have formed on the meat. This needs to be done in batches so that you can turn them and they brown evenly. Pour the apple pie filling into a bowl and run a knife through it to chop up the apples so they are in bite size pieces. Add sour cream, caramel topping and pecans. Mix well. Add kielbasa. Stir. Put in crockpot or chafing dish. Slowcook on low for at least 45 minutes. Stir about every 10 minutes. Make sure to have plenty of toothpicks for serving.
