This recipe comes from a very old estate. All of this recipes in this state are at least 50 years old and many go back to the 1800's. Will be posting several from this estate since I finally got them all typed up. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup butter or other shortening
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1-1/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 package chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nutmeats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions
  1. Cream butter then add honey gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and mix thoroughly.
  3. Sift flour once then measure and add salt and baking soda then sift again.
  4. Add flour in parts and mix well.
  5. Add chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla then mix thoroughly.
  6. Drop from teaspoon on greased baking sheet 2” apart.
  7. Bake at 375 for 12 minutes.
