Baked Crab Spread Recipe
A hot cheesy crab spread for the holidays. There are a gazillion variations on this spread.......this one was given to me years ago by a neighbor.

Ingredients
  • 2 T butter or margarine
  • ½ C chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 T sliced green onion
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 T flour
  • ¼ t white pepper
  • 1 C milk
  • ¼ C grated Parmesan
  • ½ C crabmeat
  • 1 oz shredded cheddar

Directions
  1. 350 oven
  2. 9 inch pie plate, greased
  3. Melt butter
  4. Add bell pepper, onion and garlic; cook and sitr until veggies are tender
  5. Stir in flour and pepper, cook 1 minute
  6. Gradually add milk, cook until mixture bubbles, stirring constantly
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese
  8. Remove from heat, fold in crabmeat
  9. Pour into pan; sprinkle with cheddar
  10. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted
  11. Serve with Melba rounds or party rye, pumpernickel
