Spinach Squares Recipe
This is a very easy appetizer that can be served hot or cold. Very tasty and holds up well at a party. Always a favorite. Can be made ahead and stored in fridge up to 3 days. Happy Munching.

Ingredients
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 Pkg. frozen chopped spinach- thaw and drain
  • 4 Cups grated cheese - swiss, mozzarella or mild cheddar or mix
  • 1 Cup flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 3 Eggs
  • Onion chopped fine (optioinal)
  • Bacon, fried and chopped fine (optional)

Directions
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, milk, and eggs.
  2. Add cheese and spinach and optional items if desired.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Melt margarine and put in bottom of square pan (9x9)
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  6. It will rise.
  7. Check with knife, it should come our clean.
  8. Serve hot or cold

I make this in our home. I use to be PTA president for our school. Lovely lady brought these..I have been making them ever since. We would always have a savory snack and sweet. I love your addition of bacon...going to try it. WHy I love this site..Just when you think you can cook anything sometimes we get lazy with ideas. yet so simple additions..great. I suggest everyone makes this. It is wonderful. Hot or cold.I have a version posted too. Just the best! Thank you
