This coffee cake is a family recipe that never fails to impress wherever i bring it! Don't let the secret out that it starts with a box mix.

Ingredients
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (do not use butter flavor)
  • 3 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups brown sugar

Directions
  1. Prepare cake mix according to box directions. Spread into 9x13 pan and bake 30 minutes.
  2. While cake is baking, prepare topping. Using pastry blender, combine softened butter, flour and brown sugar. Keep blending until well mixed and crumbly. You won't think it will ever come together, but it will. :-)
  3. After cake has baked for 30 minutes, crumble topping onto hot cake. Put back in oven for 10 more minutes.
  4. Let cool and enjoy!
