Chocolate Snowballs Recipe
A chocolate version of the classic wedding cookie or pecan puff.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups butter, room temperature (REAL BUTTER NOT MARGARINE)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • sifted powdered sugar

Directions
  1. Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar and vanilla, beat well
  2. Combine cocoa, flour, salt, and nuts; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until blended
  3. Chill for one hour in fridge
  4. Portion dough into one inch balls; place one inch apart on ungreased baking sheets
  5. Bake in a preheated 350ยบ oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Cool baked cookies 2 minutes before removing from the baking sheet
  7. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar. Roll in powdered sugar again after cookies have completely cooled.
  8. Store in a airtight container or you can freeze them for one month.
