Jalebies is an Indian dessert, I think is from the North West... This recipe comes from a friend who shared many kitchens and recipes in India...

These things are THE BEST! I love them. I have never made them but I know for sure they are wonderful. Every time we went to the Indian market in Preston, England I bought some. Yea! for you Berry for getting us this recipe. I have a packet in my pantry things to make them but never have I made homemade ones, but I will as soon as my things arrive here from the UK.

Hi berry thanks for the wonderful recipe my kids simply loooove it especially hot
instead of putting it in a cloth you can put the mixture in a plastic bottle like a ketchup bottle the ones that you squeeze tomato sauce from you make the rings straight into the oil thats how i make them
enjoy your day
warmest regards

I remember these as a child, boy do I miss them! My friend's mother used some rose water in the syrup.
