Ingredients
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup light cream

Directions
  1. Scald milk in top of double boiler; add cornmeal, spices, and sugar.
  2. Stir and cook until thick; then cover and cook 20 minutes.
  3. Mix egg, molasses and cream. Stir into cooked mixture.
  4. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
  5. Serve warm with cream or vanilla ice cream.
