Daffodil Cake

- If you have no "cake" flour the best substitute for 1 cup cake flour is 7/8 cup all-purpose flour + 2 tablespoons cornstarch. shopping list
- White Part shopping list
- 6 egg whites ½ C cake flour shopping list
- ½ tsp salt ½ tsp vanilla shopping list
- ½ tsp cream of tarter ½ tsp almond shopping list
- ¾ C sugar shopping list
- Yellow Part shopping list
- 6 egg yolks 1 C cake flour shopping list
- ¾ C sugar ½ tsp orange extract shopping list
- ¼ C hot water ½ tsp lemon shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp orange zest shopping list
How to make it
- Beat yolks until very thick, add sugar and eggs and beat very well
- Add hot water, then dry ingredients and lastly flavorings and zest
- Put in 2 round baking pans, marble cake style
- Bake at 350 for 35 – 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
- Cool completely
- Frost with your flavor choice
