I LOVE this cake. Brings back fond memories, my Grandma is a retiree of the campbell's soup co. It is one of their most requested recipes ever. A definite family favorite.

This brings tears to my eyes. My mom used to make this cake all the time when I was a kid and as an adult, I oftened remembered her cake and wished for the exact recipe. It was sooo good. But she had passed on and the recipe seemed lost. Then one night a friend picked up and was looking through the big leather falling apart Bible that was my Mother's and that I grew up with and inherited when she passed, and this thin piece of paper fell out to the floor...it was the recipe for her tomato soup cake written in her own hand and stained with faded drops of tomato soup, from the many times she had made it.
In my heart I know she loosened that little piece of paper and with it falling to the floor, sent me a gift from Heaven.
    Thanks for triggering that memory.
