Daddys Dunkers Recipe
These are good cookies to dunk in coffee or milk....A plain little cookie but good.....

Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cream

Directions
  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add eggs, then cream and vanilla.
  3. Sift in dry ingredients; mix well.
  4. Pinch into 1 inch balls and press with flour dipped tines of fork onto well greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees just until edges are light brown.
  6. Don't brown whole cookie.
  7. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.

Yep, the perfect "dunker" is not too sweet - these sound perfect. Ok, time for bed...I will dream of a little dunker for my morning coffee!!

Hi Zena.This sounds great and must try..Do you have any suggestion for shortening substitute?? Can I use butter??
