Baked Cheese Garlic Grits Recipe
Baked grits are a big butt deal in the south. This is a nice way to have them as a side and can be served with most anything. This recipe is from Paula Deen

Ingredients
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 tea. pepper
  • 1/4 tea. garlic powder
  • 2 cups regular grits
  • 16 ounces cheddar, cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 8 ounces grated sharp white cheddar

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350*
  2. grease 4 quart casserole dish
  3. Bring broth, salt, pepper and garlic powder to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan.
  4. Stir in grits and whisk until completely combined.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the grits are thick (about 8-10 minutes)
  6. Add the cubed cheddar and milk and stir.
  7. Gradually stir in the eggs and butter, stirring until all are combined.
  8. Pour mixture into the prepared casserole dish
  9. Sprinkle with the white cheddar and bake 35-40 minutes or until set.
