  • Note: Make a nice big well for the yeast.
  • Can use one cup of whole wheat flour

    I'm so glad I stumbled upon this recipe. I was beginning to think something was wrong with my bread machine (or me)! Now I realize it was the recipes I was using. This was perfect - thank you!

    Well it's been awhile since I've first commented on this recipe. Hope all is well with you. I have tried this recipe many times and have never been disappointed. Have added raisins, and/or lemon or orange extracts and even vanilla. I like it even better than Paska (Menno version). It is so moist and delicious and usually rises to the top of my bread machine and I have to peel it off! Thanks so much for posting this recipe.

    Hi menno friend, How's it going in Belgium? I visited there many years ago when a friend and I went to Europe for a 3 month trip. It is beautiful! this Challah bread looks so good, I want to get my bread machins out of hibernation and make some. Question for you, do you beat the eggs slightly b4 you add them? Thanks for the post.

    Yum, I LOVE challah. I'm definitely trying this. It won't be the same if it's not braided, and without poppy seeds - but the convenience is worth it, I'm sure. Thanks for this!
