How to make it

  • Cut up the chicken and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in a medium sized heavy saucepan.
  • Add flour, and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  • Add chicken broth, raise cooking temp and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat back down and add chicken, veggies, potatoes, onion, pepper and salt.
  • Mix well and heat through.
  • Pour into a 9 by 12 inch pan.
  • -
  • Combine 2 eggs, flour and milk to make a soft dough.
  • Roll out as thick or as thin as you want it .
  • Cut into 1 inch by 2 inch diamonds.
  • Place these on top of the chicken pot pie filling.
  • I then sprayed them with oil.
  • -
  • Bake at 400 f for 45 minutes to an hour. Until golden brown.
  • I am going to let this set until tomorrow to eat it. I was just up tonight watching kids so I made it ahead of time.
  • -As for the veggies peas and carrots, broccoli, corn, mixed veggie if you must. I did the green beans for the color, I would have preferred peas.
