We run out of crackers at this house quick. Probably because we like to eat them with chocolate frosting on them!!! So I came up with this recipe so we could make a quick cracker to hold our chocolate frosting!!!

Ingredients
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup shortening (butter or butter flavored crisco is really good)
  • 1 1/3 cups milk

Directions
  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and shortening together as if for a pie crust.
  2. Add milk and cut in with a couple of knives.
  3. Form a ball of dough and cut that ball into 4 pieces.
  4. Roll out the pieces to be pretty thin.
  5. Then I roll it up and unroll it on a greased cookie sheet.
  6. cut into squares, prick each square 4 or 5 times with a fork.
  7. Spray the tops with the butter flavored cooking spray.
  8. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt.
  9. Bake at 375 f. until golden brown.
  10. Watch these very closely, its like one minute the are not done and tehn zap they are burnt!
  11. For special occations try using cookie cutters to make stars or moons, what ever fits the party mood.
