How to make it

  • Beat the egg whites until they are foamy.
  • Add 4 tbsp sugar gradually and continue to beat until firm.
  • Beat egg yolks, remaining sugar and 1 qt milk until thoroughly blended. Fold into egg white mixture.
  • Add bourbon, rum, vanilla and the rest of the milk. Whip together.
  • Fix package of Dream Whip per instructions.
  • Chill all for about an hour.
  • Pour Egg Nog in 4-6 oz glasses or cups, top with dollop of Dream Whip and a dash of Nutmeg.

    The system requires a "cook time". Actually that is the "chill" time. You don't want to get caught with an open container of this in the car. It will probably get you jailed... LOL

    The recipe makes about a gallon. Mom used to fix it in 4 gallon batches. She said it made it easier to measure... :)
