How to make it

  • Slice the onions very thin and fry them lightly in butter.
  • Pour on the onions the champagne.
  • Add the parsley, almonds and garlic - put the garlic on a toothpick to make it easy to remove later.
  • Boil for 20 minutes and remove the garlic.
  • Place a slice of French bread in the bottom of each bowl, and ladle the soup over.
  • Sprinkle with Parmesean cheese.
