How to make it

  • Drain beans and place in a large casserole dish
  • heat oil in a frying pan and saute onion and garlic until soft but not brown
  • add to the beans along with the spices. stir
  • fry bacon until almost done.. add to the beans
  • brown the pork chops, chicken, and lamb in the bacon fat . cut into cubes
  • add to the beans
  • prick sausage and put in the frying pan with some water.. cook until done. cut into slices and add to the beans
  • mix the bean and meat mixture gently
  • pour over mixture the tomato sauce, wine, and enough beef broth to just cover the mixture.
  • bake at 350'F for approx 45 mins or until bubbly
  • sprinkle the top with bread crumbs and bake for 5 - 10 mins more

    This looks really good. Looks like it would serve a lot more than 6 people! A flavorful and sophisticated way to serve up leftovers.
