How to make it

  • Line deep pie dish with bottom crust ,bake on middle oven rack according to package directions or homemade at 325 for 10-12 minutes.
  • Melt butter on LOW in shallow pan(I use about 3 -4 inches deep)
  • Add mushrooms, onion, celery, garlic and carrot
  • Cook for 3 minutes or until veggies are tender.
  • Stir in flour little by little.
  • Add poultry(Bells) seasoning. Dash pepper also if you like.
  • Add the broth and the milk
  • Cook and stir constantly until thick and bubbly.
  • Add chicken and frozen vegetables
  • Pour into pie crust
  • Add top crust, cut to fit
  • Make steam vents on top
  • Brush pie with beaten egg
  • bake at 400 for 30-40 minutes or until top crust is brown
