Deep Dish Chicken Pie

- 3 Cups chopped cooked chicken shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups chicken or vegetable broth. shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 8 ounces of white fresh mushrooms shopping list
- 1 medium onion chopped shopping list
- 1-2 cloves garlic(optional) shopping list
- 1/2 cup celery shopping list
- 1 cup frozen veggies(green beans add great flavor) shopping list
- 1/2 cup finely sliced carrot shopping list
- 1/3 cup flour shopping list
- 1-2 tsp Bells seasoning shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 pie crust(homemade or bought) shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
How to make it
- Line deep pie dish with bottom crust ,bake on middle oven rack according to package directions or homemade at 325 for 10-12 minutes.
- Melt butter on LOW in shallow pan(I use about 3 -4 inches deep)
- Add mushrooms, onion, celery, garlic and carrot
- Cook for 3 minutes or until veggies are tender.
- Stir in flour little by little.
- Add poultry(Bells) seasoning. Dash pepper also if you like.
- Add the broth and the milk
- Cook and stir constantly until thick and bubbly.
- Add chicken and frozen vegetables
- Pour into pie crust
- Add top crust, cut to fit
- Make steam vents on top
- Brush pie with beaten egg
- bake at 400 for 30-40 minutes or until top crust is brown
