Great topping for pies, tarts coffee cakes etc. I use this on Apple Betty and Hot Fruit deserts.. An old recipe I got while living in Germany.

Ingredients
  • Streusel topping:
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar (I also use Splenda Brown Sugar)
  • 3/4 cups bread flour (I also use WW pastry flour)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) Optional

Directions
  1. mix until crumbly
  2. Spread over Fruit
  3. Bake 350* till nice and light brown

Yup, a good post, I make mine similar to this. When mom made yeast coffee cakes she would take the batter out of the bowl and rub the sugar and flour into the bowl to get out all the dough that clung to it out then mixed in the rest of her Streusel topping.


Oh yes, get all the goodies out of the mixing bowl, I do that also... are you sure we're not twins? lol lol
