Best ever Southern Cornbread

Ingredients
  • 2 cups white corn meal
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 8 oz.. buttermilk
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 T melted butter
  • 1 jalepeno pepper chopped very fine
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • 4 slices american cheeze
  • 1 can cream style corn

Directions
  1. Mix all ingredients well
  2. Best if baked in cast iron skillet............well greased
  3. Bake 375 for approx. 40 minutes or until browned well
