How to make it

  • Deep fried fish until golden brown
  • with sesame oil and chilli oil saute garlic, ginger and chilli until fragant add sugar until caramelize but not browned add soy sauce, dou ban jiang, keep stirring until fragant add onion, stirr until onion is soft, add tomato, stirr well add salt and pepper
  • add water, fish, with medium heat cook until the water reduces and the fish absorbs all the flavor, serve

    in china chilli oil is made by pouring boiling oil in chilli powder
    and hot fermented bean paste (dou ban jiang) are available at many asian stores

    looks good and easy but im not familiar with chili oil and hot fermented bean paste (dou ban jiang. but i think i can find one here in the grocery. crossing my fingers.hehehe
