How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Place turkey thighs in a two quart baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Put sliced shallots on top of thighs.
  • In a medium saucepan, heat orange juice, brown sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Add balsamic vinegar, lemon juice and orange rind. Heat until boiling. Pour sauce around thighs in the dish.
  • Cover and bake for approximately 1-1/2 hours or until turkey is tender and juices run clear. Remove turkey to serving dish. Pour the sauce into a saucepan on high heat.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water. Add to sauce, stirring constantly until sauce thickens and begins to bubble. Serve sauce with thighs.
  • I like to serve these with rice.
