Cinnamon Flavored Tomato Rice

- tomatoes - 4 medium shopping list
- Green chillies - 4 shopping list
- onion - 1 small shopping list
- garlic - 6 cloves shopping list
- cinnamon stick - a 3" piece shopping list
- cinnamon powder - 1/2 tsp shopping list
- turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp shopping list
- Jeera powder - 1/2 tsp shopping list
- mustard seeds and Urad Dal - for tempering shopping list
- oil - 1 tbsp shopping list
- salt - to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil and cackle mustard seeds and urad dal. Add chopped onions and slit green chillies. Fry till golden brown.
- Now add the chopped garlic, turmeric, jeera, cinnamon powder and fry for 2-3 mins.
- Next, add the chopped tomatoes and mash nicely while on fire. Adjust salt and let it cook for another 3-4 mins.
- Turn off fire, add the cooked rice and mix well.

cinnamon and rice is stunning. We make a dish with fish/cinnamon saffron rice/broth and buttered toasted pecans that is to die for. I know I'd love this dish. great post.
