Orange Yogurt Cake With Honey Syrup

- 3 cups uncooked farina shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 2 teasp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 teasp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups honey shopping list
- 2 cups plain non-fat yogurt shopping list
- 1/2 cup coursely chopped blanched almonds shopping list
- 4 TBSP. frozen orange juice concentrate shopping list
- 1 TBSP. fresh orange zest shopping list
- SYRUP: shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups honey shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups orange juice shopping list
How to make it
- Sift together farina. flour, baking powder and baking soda
- stir yogurt, almonds, orange juice concentrate, orange zest, and 1 1/2 cups honey into dry ingredients
- Por batter into a well greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
- bake at 350 ' F for 45 mins. or until the top is golden brown
- to make the syrup:
- bring 1 1/2 cups honey and1 1/2 cups orange juice to a boil.
- reduce heat and simmer 5 mins
- remove from heat and discard any froth that may have formed on the syrups surface
- pour syrup over the finished cake.
- poke cake gently with a toothpick to help the cake to absorb syrup
- serve when cake is cool and the syrup has been absorbed
- Hints:
- for a nice presentation encircle the cake with orange slices
- sprinkle top with toasted almond slices..
- in the picture the cake was baked in a bunt pan but there are no directions for baking it that way.
