How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325
  • Beat egg whites and water together.
  • Stir in pecans and toss quickly.
  • In the meantime, have mixed the sugar, cinnamon, salt and cocoa. Pour over the pecans and toss quickly.
  • Pour pecans into a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake about 30 minutes, stirring every ten minutes.
  • Using a spatula, loosen the pecans from the sheet immediately. Cool.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
  • You can use any nuts you like, really. I love cashews done this way, too.

    This looks great!! I have some New Mexico Hatch's Chili Powder that I put with my Cherry/Chili Truffles and this will be great with Texas Pecans! I will try it this week. Thanks,
