Braised Fish In Yogurt

- 2-3 fish steaks (I used salmon; about 1 1/2 lbs) shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 large onion, sliced thin shopping list
- 1 tsp tumeric shopping list
- 1 tbsp ghee (or olive oil, or butter) shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed shopping list
- 1 tbsp ginger, shopped (I used paste) shopping list
- 3 tsp corriander shopping list
- 2 tsp cumin shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp garam masala shopping list
- 1 cup plain yogurt shopping list
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (opt) shopping list
How to make it
- Dry then rub fish with salt and tumeric.
- Heat ghee and fry fish until golden, set aside.
- Add more oil, fry one onion with other spices until onions are crisp.
- Lower heat, add yogurt until it simmers (bubbles),
- Add fish, spooning hot yogurt over fish.
- Continue simmering for 15mins.
- Serve over rice, sprinkle w/ cilantro.
