A NICE LIGHT SPONGE TO BE USED AS A CAKE WITH JAM AND CREAM OR WITH FRUIT AS A BASIS FOR A DESSERT

- 4 TABLESPOONS OF SELF RAISING FLOUR
- 3 TABLESPOONS OF CASTER SUGAR
- 2 EGGS
- 1/2 TEASPOONFUL BICARBO ATE OF SODA
- 1 TEASPOONFUL CREAM OF TARTER
- 3 TABLESPOONS OF MILK
- 2 TABLESPOONS OF WATER
- LITTLE ALMOND ESSENCE FLAVOURING - OR OTHER AS DESIRED.
Directions
- MIX ALL THE DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER THOROUGHLY
- BEAT UP THE EGS WELL AND MIX WELL INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS.
- NOW ADD THE MILK AND WATER AND ESSENCE, BEATING WELL.
- TURN INTO A WELL GREASED CAKE TIN
- COOK IN THE OVEN FOR 2O MINUTES
- AT GAS MARKK 6
