From wolfpackjack 16 years agoIngredients
- 1 Tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1 Med. onion - diced shopping list
- 1 garlic clove minced - I add 3 plus shopping list
- 3/4 Cup ketchup shopping list
- 1/2 Cup cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/3 Cup honey shopping list
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce - I use low sodium shopping list
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice shopping list
- 1/2 tspn salt shopping list
- 1-1/2 tspn hot pepper sauce shopping list
- Optional - I add crushed red peppers to taste shopping list
How to make it
- In a large saucepan over med-high heat, heat oil and cook onions and garlic until tender, -- about 10 minutes
- Add ketchup, vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and rest of ingredients.
- Raise to high heat until boiling.
- Reduce to med-low, simmer uncovered for 20 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly.
- Refrigerate..
- Note: I usually make this a day or two in advance to allow all the flavors to mingle. It is equally good on pork or beef ribs. I like more garlic and the red crushed peppers give it a little more snap. Make sure to precook the ribs.
