Fabolously Fettuccine Alfredo

- pound fettuccine shopping list
- water for pasta shopping list
- 4 cloves garlic shopping list
- 2 sticks unsalted butter shopping list
- 3/4 pint cream or half and half shopping list
- 2 cups or more grated parm reg cheese shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp oregano shopping list
- pinch of sugar shopping list
How to make it
- cook fettuccine in boiling salted water until not yet al dente (6-7 mins)
- at the same time in a bigger saute pan melt butter on med low heat
- slowly sauté diced garlic in butter
- add cream, turn heat to low
- add seasonings
- slowly wisk in cheese. If you add to much to quick or if it is too hot it will clump up on you.
- once everything is incorporated add the drained pasta and toss.
- serve and enjoy!

If you drop the oregano, you have the original recipe and would make Alfredo di Lelio proud. This is one of those dishes that is so simple yet not usually served at parties. Probably because it does tend to "tighten" as it sits. Thanks, it's delic...more
