Ingredients
  • 1 head of cabbage "shredded"
  • OR: 1 large bag of shredded coleslaw cabbage w/carrots
  • 1 stick of butter
  • little salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. 1. shred the cabbage either with a shredder, or knife, or food processor. I use a knife I like bigger chunks then what even the coleslaw size is.
  2. 2, Melt 1 stick of butter in an iron skillet, I suppose any fry pan will do, just I dont have any others but iron haha!
  3. 3. When the butter is melted, toss in your cabbage cover for 5min
  4. remove lid finish frying till totally wilted and a tad browned.
  5. I myself like the burnt cabbage so its all to your likeing as how you want to fix your cabbage. I also eat it on bread but then thats my preference also lol Just happens to be good at any time of the day or night.

My husband and I love cabbage and we agree...just a tad of browning makes a big difference. Sometimes we add finely chopped up and cooked ground beer to the cabbage, Yum! A simple meal.

This is the only way I can eat cabbage anymore-all of a sudden it just doesn't taste good-except for napa. Nice recipe. Thanks.

My dad made this with bacon drippings. I like it burnt too.
