Sweet N Southern Baked Beans Recipe

I attended a bbq a few years ago, given by a hostess who was born
and raised in the South. When I first took a bite of these beans, I

Ingredients
- 2 large cans B & M Baked Beans,
- or brand of your choice
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 box of brown sugar
- ½ cup honey
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 Tablespoons mustard
- 6 strips bacon, fried and crumbled
- and its bacon fat
Directions
- Mix first 6 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Add crumbled bacon and grease.
- Pour into Dutch oven and cover.
- Cook on medium high heat, stirring often until hot.
- Turn down heat to low and simmer on top of stove for at least 2 hours or bake in oven at 325 degrees F.
- Ok, I’ll confess, I use a whole pound of bacon in this recipe, and just
- a little bacon grease. Honey, ketchup and mustard are really ingredients you can adjust to taste.

Who knew! I'm from New York state, so I don't know a lot about southern cooking, but I think it's wonderful...ask Paula Deen! LOL! I haven't tried sweet tea yet.

I grew up in VA and these sound just like the ones we used to make ... thinking a bbq this summer might call for making these again!! :)
