Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cookies
  • Melt 1/2 Cup of chips over hot, not boiling water, stir until smooth (or microwave), set aside
  • In a small bowl combine dry ingredients; set aside
  • In a large bowl combine butter, sugar and vanilla and beat until creamy
  • Beat in egg and melted morsels
  • Gradually beat in flour mixture
  • Shape dough into ball and wrap in wax paper, chill for about 30 minutes

  • On lightly floured board, roll out dough to about 3/16" thickness, if dough is too dry wet hands with water and work dough until rolling consistency.
  • Cut with a 2" heart shaped cookie cutter
  • Reroll remaining dough and cut out.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes and cool completely on wire racks
  • Glaze
  • Combine over hot(not boiling) water the remaining 1 cup of morsels, shortening, corn syrup and water; stir until morsels are melted and mixture is smooth
  • Remove from heat but keep over hot water
  • Dip 1/2 of each cookie into glaze and place on waxed paper lined cookies sheets
  • Chill 10 minutes until set, store with wax paper between layers
  • Makes about 3 1/2 dozen 2" cookies

Yummmm a favorite of mine.... I bought a lot of those chips - they were trying so hard to get rid of them last year, but they are back - I have put them in when making brownies for a nice surprise. Though I haven't tried the razzberry flavored chips yet. Thanks for great posting... I will definitely save and try these for my February party.
