Ingredients

1 stick of butter

1 8oz package of cream cheese

1 cup of 1/2 and 1/2

1 cup of Parmesan cheese

1 tsp. garlic powder

Directions

In a sauce pan, melt butter and cream cheese over low heat.

Stir to avoid burning.

After butter and cream cheese has melted stir in Parmesan cheese, 1/2 and 1/2 and garlic powder.

Continue stirring until completely heated.

I've tried other recipes which substitute flower or corn starch for the cream cheese; but they always turn out poorly and it's a crap shoot to get the right proportions. This recipe is easy because of the proportions to mix and it always comes out the right consistency.

I've been looking at many GR recipes for alfredo sauce. I'm giving you a five rating, mainly because of your comment about flour being a bad substitute for cream cheese. It indicates you've made a few batches. I find it odd that the other ten thousand alfredos got ratings and your didn't.
