How to make it

  • In a sauce pan, melt butter and cream cheese over low heat.
  • Stir to avoid burning.
  • After butter and cream cheese has melted stir in Parmesan cheese, 1/2 and 1/2 and garlic powder.
  • Continue stirring until completely heated.

    I've been looking at many GR recipes for alfredo sauce. I'm giving you a five rating, mainly because of your comment about flour being a bad substitute for cream cheese. It indicates you've made a few batches. I find it odd that the other ten thousand alfredos got ratings and your didn't.

    I've tried other recipes which substitute flower or corn starch for the cream cheese; but they always turn out poorly and it's a crap shoot to get the right proportions. This recipe is easy because of the proportions to mix and it always comes out the right consistency.
