How to make it

  • Cook broccoli according to pkg directions and drain or steam fresh broccoli 5 mintues and drain
  • Melt margerine in a large saucepan over medium heat
  • Add celery, carrot, onion and thyme;cook5 to 7 minutes or until crisp-tender. stirring ocassionally
  • Stir flour into some of the milk, making a smooth paste...add milk a little at a time until thin, then stir in remaining milk and broth
  • Add to to vegetable mixture and cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly
  • Stir in chicken and broccoli;simmer 5 minutes or until heated through, stirring ocassionally.
  • Add cheese; stir until melted

    I made this 2 nights ago and it was really good. I let everyone put in their own cheese and we used monteray jack. Last night I just added more chicken and stock, and a little cream and we had it again. I forgot the thyme, but it would have made it even better. Thanks!! ~Dawn
