Broccoli Chicken Chowder

- 2 Cups frozen broccoli florets, cooked and drained ( or fresh, steamed 5 minutes, drained) shopping list
- 2 Tbl butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup diced celery shopping list
- 1/2 chopped carrot shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped shopping list
- 1 tsp fresh or 1/4 tsp dried thyme leaves shopping list
- 1/4 C flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 Cup milk shopping list
- 1 (10 1/2 oz) can condensed chicken broth shopping list
- 2 Cups of cooked chicken shopping list
- 1 cup shredded American or cheddar dheese shopping list
How to make it
- Cook broccoli according to pkg directions and drain or steam fresh broccoli 5 mintues and drain
- Melt margerine in a large saucepan over medium heat
- Add celery, carrot, onion and thyme;cook5 to 7 minutes or until crisp-tender. stirring ocassionally
- Stir flour into some of the milk, making a smooth paste...add milk a little at a time until thin, then stir in remaining milk and broth
- Add to to vegetable mixture and cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly
- Stir in chicken and broccoli;simmer 5 minutes or until heated through, stirring ocassionally.
- Add cheese; stir until melted
