- 1/2 CUP OF butter shopping list
- 2 CUPS OF sugar shopping list
- 2 SMALL SPOONFULS OF cinnamon POWDER shopping list
- 8 eggs (SEPARATE YOLKS FROM WHITES) shopping list
- 4 CUPS OF MINCED walnuts shopping list
- 3 CUPS OF flour shopping list
- 2 TSP baking powder shopping list
- FOR THE syrup : shopping list
- 1 1/2 CUPS sugar shopping list
- 1-2 SMALL GLASSES OF brandy shopping list
- 1/3 CUP RUSK CRUMBS (MORE OR LESS TO YOUR TASTE) shopping list
How to make it
- COMBINE THE BUTTER, THE SUGAR, THE CINNAMON AND THE EGG YOKES FOR 10 MINS.
- THEN, WHISK THE WHITES INTO A MERINGUE AND MIX IT WITH THE BUTTER MIXTURE LITTLE BY LITTLE.
- AFTER THAT, MIX THE MINCED WALNUTS WITH THE FLOUR AND THE BAKING POWDER AND ADD THEM ALL INTO THE MIXTURE OF THE BUTTER AND EGGS, LITTLE BY LITTLE, TOO, WORKING THE MIXTURE OUT CONTINUALLY UNTIL IT BECOMES SMOOTH AND EVEN.
- THEN, EMPTY IT INTO A PROPER CAST IRON GRIDDLE (BUTTERED AND DREDGED WITH RUSK CRUMBS), DREDGE IT WITH THE REST MINCED WALNUTS AND BAKE IT AT 350 FOR ABOUT 30- 45 MINUTES.
- MEANWHILE PREPARE THE SYRUP WITH 1 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR, 2 CUPS OF WATER AND 1-2 GLASSES OF BRANDY.
- WHEN THE PIE IS READY, TAKE IT OUT OF THE OVEN AND SOAK IT IN THE HOT SYRUP.
