Ingredients
  • fresh salmon slabs up to six ounces (filleted)skin on (4pcs)
  • half cup of thick real rich maple syrup
  • alder -maple or birch slabwood plank 4inches by 12 inches square
  • one inch thick
  • soak plank in water the night before use
  • you can buy store bought seasoned planks if you dont wont to hassle with making your own

Directions
  1. start your charcoal grill with real charcoal( cofee can container of coals)
  2. bring coals to the gray ash edged stage
  3. spread coals to single layer
  4. remove plank from fresh water marinade
  5. place all four salmon pcs on plank skin side down
  6. set plank on charcoal grill about four inches above coals and close the grill lid with vents open
  7. check fish after 10 minutes if salmon is turning orange and flaky drizzle with maple sryup and close lid for for another 8 minutes
  8. check for doneness with salmon flaking easily but still moist
  9. salmon should lift from plank and skin sticks to plank
  10. serve right away.......so no one gets bored
