I make this for my "big" kid. He just loves any kind of fruit

Ingredients
  • 4 oz. dried peaches
  • 4 oz. dried apricots
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. sugar(optional)

Directions
  1. Cook time is 1 hour...Dry time is 8 hours
  2. Bring fruit and water to boil
  3. Lower heat and simmer, covered 30 minutes
  4. Drain and cool fruit
  5. Preheat oven to 300
  6. Add fruit, vanilla, and allspice to food processor until smooth
  7. Line 151/2 x 101/2 baking sheet with foil
  8. Spread fruit mixture evenly over foil
  9. Bake for 25 minutes
  10. Shut off oven and DO NOT open door
  11. Let remain in oven for 8 hours to dry
  12. Peel the fruit from foil and sprinkle with sugar if desired
  13. Roll up and slice into desired size
