I came up with this truffle recipe several years ago for dessert for my husband's Valentine's dinner---they look pretty in little Valentine mini muffin liners w/hearts.

Ingredients
  • 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c. margarine (I use Parkay)
  • 4 Tbs. International Foods Creme Caramel coffee
  • 4 Tbs. hot water
  • toasted hazelnuts, chopped

Directions
  1. Melt chocolate and margarine in microwave on med. for 1 min., stir, and put back in if needed--until chocolate is smooth.
  2. Heat water until it starts to boil; stir in coffee.
  3. Add coffee mixture to chocolate.
  4. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  5. Form chocolate into walnut-sized balls and roll in the chopped hazelnuts.
  6. ----------------
  7. For orange or strawberry truffles:
  8. Do everything the same, except leave out the coffee and water and add 1/2 tablespoon of either orange or strawberry extract and roll into cocoa or powdered sugar. (you could even add some red powder coloring to the powdered sugar for Valentine's Day!) :)
  9. Enjoy! :)

hi.. love this recipe. im a chocolate lover so surely il try this great one... got to give five on this one! =) but wait, does margarine can make this truffles more delicious than butter? which one is best to use? thanks...


My sweet tooth drew me to this decadent treat and I am glad I love the orange truffles ad those toasted
