I've had an alternative to this dish for well over 40 years. My mother used to make this for my dad, it was his favorite desert. Layer with vanilla wafers, then vanilla putting, then layer with slices of bananas, then layer with coolwhip, then repeat the process.. as deep as your pan or you want to go.......finish with top layer of whipcream..I added another touch since 'Mom', sprinkle final topping with freshly ground nutmeg...Outstanding! (this can be made with or without bananas.....just wafers and pudding and whipped cream was dad's favorite.....I prefer the bananas.....God bless and Enjoy!
