- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 1 cup dark molasses shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon shopping list
- 2 teaspoons ginger shopping list
How to make it
- Cream together the sugar and shortening.
- Add molasses and unbeaten eggs.
- Mix well.
- Sift together dry ingredients and stir in.
- If dough is too soft to work with, chill in the refrigerator for several hours.
- Put 1/4 cup sugar in a small bowl.
- Dip fingers into sugar, then pinch off a ball of dough and roll it to the size and shape of a walnut.
- Dip the rolled ball into the bowl of sugar.
- Place balls on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
