Ingredients

How to make it

  • buy only fresh chicken wings -approx 2 1/2 lbs. chicken wings or more!
  • wash good; cut off tips; sever the wingetts from the wing if you like (I keep mine whole)
  • while you're preparing chicken; put oil in fryer to get hot to 400 degrees
  • Use a metal bowl (or microwave glass bowl) place 2 tablespoons of REAL butter and place on stove top to melt (I use low setting so to melt slowly) add about 1/2 cup to full cup of Frank's HotSauce to melted butter and let it simmer on low while you're cooking wings
  • dry chicken with very clean hand towel or paper towels (water makes oil pop!)
  • after wings are ready; gently place them in oil to cook approx. 14 minutes
  • (I like mine extra crispy)-then spoon out
  • immediately place in bowl with butter & sauce; swivel around to coat wings
  • serve with Ken's Buttermilk Ranch dressing (or Bluecheese) and celery sticks
  • I know it's simple but making the crispy skin is very important-I have to say this is my favorite food :) Hope you enjoy them like I do.

Well you've just made the original Anchor Bar Buffalo wings. I've been making these since the 70's. I am constantly making these for all sorts of parties around town and for the tailgaters attending the UCONN games. I too love wings. YUM!
