Buttermilk Meat Balls

- 1 pound lean ground beef shopping list
- 3/4 cup milk shopping list
- 3/4 cup fine bread crumbs shopping list
- 1/4 cup finely chopped white onion shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 cups buttermilk shopping list
- 2 tablespoon mustard shopping list
How to make it
- Combine beef, milk, bread crumbs, onion, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper.
- Mix thoroughly then shape into 16 balls.
- Melt 2 tablespoon butter in a skillet then brown meat balls well on all sides.
- Remove the meat balls from the pan and add the remaining butter.
- Blend in flour, sugar and remaining salt.
- Add buttermilk and mustard then cook stirring constantly until thickened.
- Reduce heat and return meat balls to sauce then cover and simmer 25 minutes.
- Serve over rice or noodles.
