How to make it

  • Combine beef, milk, bread crumbs, onion, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper.
  • Mix thoroughly then shape into 16 balls.
  • Melt 2 tablespoon butter in a skillet then brown meat balls well on all sides.
  • Remove the meat balls from the pan and add the remaining butter.
  • Blend in flour, sugar and remaining salt.
  • Add buttermilk and mustard then cook stirring constantly until thickened.
  • Reduce heat and return meat balls to sauce then cover and simmer 25 minutes.
  • Serve over rice or noodles.
