Steamed Ham and Brussels Sprouts

- 1-1/2 pounds ham steak shopping list
- 1 pound fresh Brussels sprouts shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/3 pound bacon cut into 1” pieces shopping list
- 1 large yellow onion diced shopping list
How to make it
- Cut ham slice into 1” wide strips about 3” long.
- In a large saucepan combine sprouts, water and salt then simmer covered for 15 minutes.
- Fry bacon in a heavy skillet until crispy then remove all but 3 tablespoons of the grease.
- Add onion and sauté until onion softens about 5 minutes.
- Drain sprouts and add with ham to the skillet.
- Cover and steam over a low heat 7 minutes.
