Sauerkraut Casserole Recipe

Surprisingly everyone liked it, even my kids who were very vocal about sauerkraut- yuk. but you know me i have to mess with everything. so here is my version. Prep:30m Cook:45m Servings:6	Cheryilyn

Ingredients

1 bag of sauerkraut

2 lbs of hamburger

1 large onion, chopped

1 C. mushrooms, sliced

Garlic pepper, to taste

8 med potatoes

1 stick butter

1/2 C. milk

1 C. sour cream

Directions

Cook potatoes in pot of water, drain and return to heat. Add 1 stick butter. When butter is melted stir potatoes to coat with butter.

Add milk, when milk begins to boil remove from heat and mash. Add sour cream and whip till smooth. Set aside.

Brown hamburger, onion and mushroom. Drain. Add seasoning to taste. Put meat in 9x13” baking pan.

Drain most of juice off sauerkraut then spread evenly over meat mixture.

Spread mashed potatoes evenly over top of sauerkraut.

Melt butter and drizzle over potatoes

Put in preheated 350°F oven and bake 45 min.

I never had hamburger with sourkraut.But my mom used to put boiled beef short ribs in hers sometimes.This sounds good ,thanks.:)
