nutty apple cake

- 200 gr flour shopping list
- 100 gr sugar shopping list
- 100 gr butter shopping list
- 1 egg (large!) shopping list
- a pinch of salt shopping list
- 2 pound apples (approx.) shopping list
- lemon juice shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2 TBSP honey shopping list
- 50 gr sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. cinamon shopping list
- 1 dash of ground cloves shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. vanilla sugar shopping list
- 125 gr grated hazelnuts shopping list
- 1 egg yolk shopping list
- 1 TBSP milk shopping list
How to make it
- put flour, sugar and salt into mixing bowl
- add butter in small pieces
- add egg
- knead with dough hooks of hand-held mixer until dough holds together - more or less - but is still 'crumbly'
- place dough on work surface
- lightly flour hands
- quickly knead until smooth.
- wrap in plastic foil and keep cool until needed
- preaheat oven to 200°C
- roll out dough thinly on baking paper
- place springform on top
- cut out dough to fit base
- place cut-out base into greased springform, make holes with fork,
- bake for about 15 minutes
- remove pan, linne sides with remaining dough
- quarter, peel and core apples, sprinkle with lemon juice
- finely grate about 300 gr of apples for filling sprinkle with lemon juice
- beat eggs, honey, sugars, cinamon, cloves and hazelnuts until foamy, stir in grated apples
- fill the mixture into pan
- place the remaining quartered apples closely together on top
- (round part facing up)
- mix egg yolk with mil and brush top of apples
- bake cake about 40 to 45 minutes
- remove, let cool and enjoy!
- if you do not want to use whipped cream, some vanilla icecream always goes well with t his cake, especially if it is not totally cold!
