How to make it

  • Pour milk into saucepan. Add salt, cinnamon, coriander, cardamom, and turmeric. Whisk to blend. Place pan over medium heat.
  • Just before milk comes to a boil, lower heat and let mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in vanilla and honey and whisk until honey dissolves.
  • Sprinkle in oats and stir once or twice. Cover pan and leave over low heat for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • When oatmeal has thickened to your liking, serve hot with yogurt or buttermilk
