Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 oz wormwood
  • 1/3 oz Hyssop
  • 1/3 oz calamus
  • 1/8 oz fennel seed
  • 1 tsp mint extract
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp corriander
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 star anise fruits
  • 1 bottle of everclear
  • 10 shots ouzo

Directions
  1. Mix with dry ingriedents (wormwood, hyssop, calamus, and mint)
  2. pour into airtight container.
  3. Mix with a bottle of everclear, allow mix to steep for two weeks
  4. strain the liquid through thin cloth
  5. add 1/2 dropper full of wormwood essential oil
  6. 1/3-2/3 to taste- anise extract
  7. 1 tsp mint extract
  8. 2-10 shots ouzo
  9. Fill a glass with Ice
  10. pour 1 shot of absinthe in the glass
  11. set 2 sugar cubes on a slotted spoon over the glass
  12. Slowley pour cold water over the cubes to disolve the sugar

Wher do you get the wormwood??


Here is a thing to remember, Absinthe is illegal in the states. I think most of Europe as well.

It also tastes terrible!

Thanks for posting this though ;) I bet the other spices might help it taste a wee bit better.


They actually have wormwood knock offs, im not sure what its called but i guess if its not real wormwood its not real absinthe so its not really illegal is it mwahhahaha! i make a good point!


All i can do is smile....and save the recipe!


I don't know if I'd see MORE fairies with this or the wine....lol
