Pretend Cinnabon Recipe

Pretend Cinnabon Recipe
These homemade cinnamon rolls are so good. You mix them in the bread machine and do the rest by hand. I got this recipe from a friend in Alaska. They go so good with a cup of coffee. The smell when they are baking is to die for.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 packet of active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 cup warm milk (110 degrees)
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 Tbs. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 small package (3 oz) softened cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions
  1. Put ingredients into the pan in order of manufacturers directions.
  2. Select dough; press start.
  3. After the dough has doubled in bulk, turn it onto a lightly floured table, cover with saran wrap and let it rest for 10 minutes. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  5. Roll the dough into a 16x21 in. rectangle. Spread the dough with the 1/3 cup butter and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place the rolls on a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled (they will raise more in the oven) about 30 minutes.
  6. Bake the rolls until a golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Check the earler time.
  7. Whe the rolls bake, cream together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla and salt. Spread the frosting when the rolls are still warm.
