How to make it

  • Cream together butter and sugar
  • Add eggs then milk and jam
  • Fold in allspice, cloves, soda, and flour
  • Beat for a couple minutes until mixed good
  • Then put in greased cake pan (9x13)
  • Cook 325 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes
  • This cake can also be made in 3 layers like in the old days
  • Icing:
  • This icing is like an icing for a German Chocolate Cake except with raisins...
  • Cook milk and sugar until creamy and smooth in a saucepan.
  • Add raisins and chopped nuts last... cook for about one or two minutes
